29-year old Igor Vovkovinskiy is the tallest American – his height is 7’8”. He has not stepped out of his house for the last 6-years and Reebok has stepped in to help him out.

He suffers from a disease known as pituitary gigantism and the sizes of his feet are odd – it lies between 22 and 25. He has to have made-to-order shoes that fit his feet properly otherwise he would lose his balance.
He is a Ukrainian but had moved to the USA for treatment when he was only 7-years old and settled in Rochester, Minnesota. He has already undergone an operation and had been confined to the bed for 3-years.
Reebok has now decided to make proper fitting shoes for Igor – it would cost upwards of $20,000 per pair. They are already on the job and would be spending around six weeks to create prototypes. Igor would have to try these out and Reebok would subsequently fine-tune them to produce shoes that fit him properly.
