ACL injury takes nine months to rehabilitate and heal that ended Mo's season. Mariano hasn't been in the disabled list since 2003. The bizarre freak injury could end the 42-year old Panaminian Mariano Rivera career but his legacy as the greatest closer of all time will remain.

New York Yankees Mariano Rivera was carted off field in Kansas City Kaufman Stadium after apparently hurting his knee during batting practice warm ups in tonights game against the Royals. ESPN New York quote, "Rivera was "writhing in pain'' after the injury, which may have occurred from running into the wall after a long fly."
There is still no diagnosis or official announcement from the Yankees but apparently being carted off the field means its serious injury. The future Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera is 42-years old but if it's a torn ACL, we may have seen the last of him.
Some people ask why was Mariano Rivera shagging fly balls in the middle of the field were instead he should be in the bullpen doing his warm-ups. Rivera has a 2.16 ERA and five saves this season. SF Giants closerinjured his elbow earlier last month and had undergone a season ending surgery. Yankees baseball gods forbid it won't happen to Mo.
