Destiny must have had good reasons to not allow then, 22 year old Barack Obama to marry Miss Genevieve Cook and settled for then, Miss Michelle Robinson. These days' surfacing of Miss Cook as an ex-girl friend of President Obama is a nostalgic revisit of two young lovers' memory lanes.
During these days Miss Cook must have a clearer view and undstanding why fate and destiny allowed Obama to lay her somewhere in the lover's lane to take more seriouus stand for Miss Robinson. Probably, had Obama settled for her (Cook},today is not the president of the United States of America.
Obama for sure, saw in Michelle the image of a future and first Afro-American First Lady that he did not see in Miss Cook. It were the sharp and piercing eyes of the American eagle that worked in Obama that enabled him to see the distinct qualities of now First Lady Obama.
The gestures of Miss Cook to dedicate a chapters in her book about President Obama are indicative of her unbroken admiration and appreciation for her ex-boy friend.
Please allow this writer to borrow Prabirghose's words and quote, "Obama has been the most powerful leader in the world in recent times and has not hesitated to take unpleasant decisions like that of elimination of the al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. He has proved time and again that he is a man and that those who have faith in his abilities would never feel let down."
Both former young lovers have lived long enough to see and witness the successes and victories each has won over the years since and from the point of their separation. Nice to know to see them still as friends.
