Republican lawmakers view Corbett's budget favorably

In Pennsylvania, state lawmakers went to the state capital, Harriburg. They are there after three weeks of off time to campaign for primaries and figure out how to lower the proposed spending cuts by Gov. Tom Corbett with money that they have left from tax collections that are improving, The Republican lawmakers at the top were planning on going to a meeting where the Gov. lives on May 1, 2012 as they started the last two months of the spring legislature session and the end of the fiscal year.

THe collections of taxes for April were more than Gov Corbett thought there would be could . Could help the state goverment exceeding the deficit production in the overall budget by several hundred million dollars.

There are a lot of people who are working against the cuts Gov Corbett made in some programs to balance the budget.

An example is people who advocate for the poor are against stopping giving $200 million a month in cash for people who are temporarily unemployed and adults who are disabled by requiring them to work 100 hours a month for maintaining a state paid medical benefits.

A staff lawyer for Commonwealth Services in Philadelphia, Michael Froehlic said these cuts would affect about 68,000 people says that if Corbett makes these cuts these people are going to end up in homeless shelters, also a planned cut in state money. He said it is wrong to make the disabled work when they are on thhe program because they can't work.

Froehlich said, " Hopefully we can educate legislatures about this so they can you can't just overnigh

Why eliminate (the only source of income for) somebody who is unable to work and expect that you won't see them turning to more expensive social services."With Corbett's government cut program to balance the budget cuts social services, nursing homes and schools.
