Motor cycle riding banned in Bara

The Bara based political administration has decided to ban motorcycle riding, aimed to restrict anti-social and criminal activities of militants in Bara, sub-division of Khyber Agency, a notification issued by political administration said here on Wednesday. Assistant political agent Bara Bakhtyar khan said that since long unknown militants utilized unregistered and theft motorcycles to fulfill their malpractices and anti social activities in the area. Therefore, the step has been taken to curtail and restrict their movements to avoid any untoward incident. Shoot order has been given of those who violate the law, he warned. The imposition of the law would be implemented in Aka khel, Meri khel and other surrounding areas of tehsil Bara where motor cyclists have resorted to violence and murder of the people including the personnel of the forces, sources said.

It is important to state here that for the last three years military operation has been going on incessantly and regularly besides the imposition of the constant curfew in the area to make it clear of militants but in vain. The military operation and the constant curfew imposed in Bara against militants have forced more than 0.4 millions local tribesmen to vacate their homes and take shelter in Jalozai camp.
