After a double elimination last week that sent the Mexican and Canadian crews home, this week on “America’s Best Dance Crew” the seven remaining crews take on the music of Canadian hip-hop star Drake. The challenge for this week is for the crew to bring one of the lyrics come to life.
The first two crews that are safe and will appear next week are Rated Next Generation and Mos Wanted Crew.
First to perform is Rated Next Generation with “H Y F R”. JC said the routine had elements that he liked but the performance seemed like it was all on one level and in unison. D-Trix said it was the best performance by the crew so far hands down; adding the crew was clean and precise. Lil Mama said the crew’s choreography was advanced and urged them to keep going.
The dance teacher crew known as Mos Wanted Crew performed to the current Drake hit “The Motto”. JC said it was a really fantastic performance; noting how well the crew was excelling on the show and using the whole stage. Lil Mama said the crew is definitely representing the street crews; adding that their choreography cannot be touched, is clean, hot, and undeniable. D-Trix felt that it wasn’t the crew’s best performance and urged them to push themselves to the next level.
The girls of 8 Flavahz not only had the challenge of incorporating lyrics into their routine, Angel learned that her mother – who is battling cancer back in Hawaii – has taken a turn for the worse. Fighting tears, Lil Mama called the performance more passionate than anything. Lil Mama revealed that she had lost her mother to cancer and urged Angel to see her mother and say all that she had to say while she still had the time. D-Trix said that sometimes you have to look past everything and just dance, which is what the girls did; adding that it was a great thing. JC said it was a touching moment, the girls were professionals, and was impressed with what the girls did.
The last two safe crews were Collizion Crew and Elektrolytes Leaving Fanny Pak and the Step Boys as the bottom two crews and up for elimination.
Collizion Crew drew the song “Over” which has lyrics about cars. The crew, who survived a severe car crash, used the car theme even creating a car with their bodies. D-Trix said the guys just made a statement. Lil Mama said the guys continue to surprise her and bring a different energy to the dance floor. JC said that Drake’s music was in a pocket and the crew made the pocket look great; adding the crew did a great job.
Elektrolytes performed to the song “Headlines”. For the past two weeks the Elektrolyes have been performing one man down, but this week Chris returns to the dance floor to join his crewmates. JC said the performance was really powerful and sharp; adding the routine was really good and complete. D-Trix said that he disagreed with JC and called it a great performance and the crew murdered the challenge with beautiful movements. Lil Mama said the crew was explosive and nothing was boring.
In the battle round Fanny Pak performed to “Make Me Proud”.JC said the crew didn’t need to depend on props. Lil Mama said the crew was discreet like the theatre and a mastermind.
The Street Boys have been the comedy crew this season and took that comedy to a new level this week with “Best I Ever Had” and the lyrics – mascot. One of the crew members came dressed in a bear suit. JC called it insane when the guys threw the bear into the air; adding that the whole routine had moments but the choreography was ABC. Lil Mama was impressed saying the routine was clean. After their comments D-Trix challenged Lil Mama and JC to do what the crew did especially in a costume.
After deliberating the judges chose to eliminate the Street Boys.
Next week the sex remaining crews will dance to the music of Jennifer Lopez.
