Hundreds of area residents will board buses to the State Capitol for a 10 a.m. demonstration calling for passage of HB 1776, coined The Property Tax Independence Act, and its companion legislation, SB 1400.
The rally is being organized by the Pennsylvania Coalition of Taxpayer Associations, an alliance of 70 grassroots taxpayer advocacy groups calling for a major overhaul of how public education is funded in Pennsylvania.
Passage of these bills will send a message across America that the School Property Tax can be eliminated in every US State, helping to save millions of homeowners from foreclosure and bankruptcy; creating millions of jobs by leaving billons of dollars in the pockets of property owners - where it can be saved, spent on home repairs, food, paying your debts, bringing you insurance, medicine, etc.
