It’s results night on “Dancing with the Stars” and the last week of the dance duel.
The show begins with the couple who earned the first perfect score of the night – Maria and Derek with their vampire inspired Paso Doble. Last night Maria “put the bite” on Derek at the end of the dance, but this time around Derek got his revenge and got Maria with his stake.
The results begins with the three couples who scored 27 points – Katherine and Mark, William and Cheryl, and Donald and Peta. All three couples were safe.
The final AT&T Spotlight Performance is from Steelo Vasquez who less than a year after suffering a brain aneurysm and unable to do anything for himself, Steelo made his comeback performance in the ballroom with his crew the Groovaloos.
Gavin DeGraw returns to the ballroom, but this time it’s to do what he does best…sing. Gavin performs his newest single and title of his latest album “Sweet”. Karina and Louis perform as Gavin sings.
Over the past several weeks, fans have been voting online for the couple they liked best in the Ballroom Battle. The six couples were coached by a DWTS professional dancer. The finalists are team Cheryl, team Tony, and team Louis. Each couple will perform and the judges will determine the winner. In a Jive relay, first up was Cheryl Burke’s team, followed by the dancers from Tony Dovolani’s team, and finally it was the couple coaches by Louis van Amstel. Len told the mentors well done; adding the couples were fantastic, fast, fun, and full on. Bruno said they had beautiful technique; and Carrie Ann said that she could see the coaches influences in the performances. After some deliberation from the judges, Len announced that the couple in third place was team Louis, second place went to team Tony, and the winners were Anna and Alan from team Cheryl. Along with the title of Ballroom Battle winners, the couple received a trophy. Cheryl said it was the first time the couple danced together.
Time for more results for the final four couples Maria and Derek, Roshon and Chelsie, Jaleel and Kym, and Melissa and Maks. Maria and Derek are safe; and despite consistently earning the lowest scores Melissa and Maks were safe to return for another week leaving Roshon and Chelsie and Jaleel and Kym in the bottom two to battle it out in the dance duel.
Jaleel referred to Len as the old guy outside of the grocery store who won’t give a kid any money for candy. The couples must perform a Rumba in the final dance duel of the season.
After the couples danced Carrie Ann said that both couples are pretty much equal. Len said the duel is cruel and it breaks his heart to have to pick one of them. Bruno said Roshon was spot on and both couples did very well. In a unanimous decision the judges saved Roshon and Chelsie leaving Jaleel and Kym as the couple eliminated from the competition. Jaleel said that he didn’t expect to last more than three dances and was happy they saved Roshon. Jaleel told Len to give Roshon a 10, calling Roshon the kid outside the candy store.
Next week things get tougher with the six remaining couples having to perform two dances.
