(Check It Out! Pictures!) MANILA, Philippines- Thousands of protesters from the labor groups gathered on Mendiola bridge near the Malanañang Presidential Palace in Manila on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

Workers celebrates this year’s ‘Labor Day’ known as ‘May Day’ by burning an effigy of Philippine President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III for the symbol of their protest .

Huge number of workers in red shirts waving placards and streamers marched along the main roads of Manila demanding wage increase, regarding oil price increases and other economic concerns.

President Aquino rejected the demand for $3 daily pay hike. According to the president, it may worsen inflation, spark layoffs and turn away foreign investors.
