
Radio Al Jazeera reported that the Lebanese Navy hastemporarily seized a ship named Luftfallah II is registered inSierra Leone and was to be carrying weapons and ammunition toinsurgents Syria.
The ship was intercepted en route from Libya to the port of Tripoliin northern Lebanon. The entire crew were arrested after the navyfound three boxes containing machine guns, grenade launchersand artillery shells on board Luftfallah II. Currently, Luftfallah II shipis detained at the port of Beirut Selaata way about 50 km to the authorities to investigate such cases. Meanwhile, Channel AlJazeera quoted a local security official said the weapons weretransferred to the gunmen of the Syrian Army Freedom group.
Also yesterday, the Syrian news agency SANA reported more than 170 insurgents have surrendered his administrational-Assad. Accordingly, since the ceasefire by the UN protectionforce on 12.4, about 1,000 protesters had surrendered. In aseparate incident, two explosions occurred yesterday in the city ofIdlib, northwest Syria, killing at least eight people dead.
