This week I have been doing some reading just about technology, computers and various operating systems. I've been doing this whilst working on www.itrentals.com. I commented on them but I thought I would also share some of the best articles that I found, hopefully you will find them useful. Infographic: How to fix a Computer - This is a great infographic, giving a step by step guide of how to fix a windows computer. It's originally from theoatmeal.com. 5 Worst things on an office PC - A funny list of things you don't want your boss to find on your computer, can you guess what the worse one was? Cool Car Shaped Mouse - A blog about a new type of mouse that has been shaped like car. They might be cool to use for a few weeks, but the novelty value may ware off very soon. Oade to Spectrum - An article in Spectrum style font, looks pretty cool and is quite accurate. Take a look, see what you think. 7 Exhibits from Science Museum - This is quite an interesting list of striking pieces of tech from yester-year. We've got the difference engine, Apple 1 and even the first Google server. Japan 8 Quadrillion Calculator - Interesting read from Derren Brown about a Japanese computer that is capable of carrying out 8 quadrillion equations per second. Backup Workstation - A technical guide to backing up your workstation and which program you need to use. Hydraulic Russian Computer - An article about a hydraulic computer that was made in 1936, that worked based upon water-filled glass tubes. Warning: Microsoft Scam Calls - Apparently earlier this year, scammers have been ringing up people claiming to be from Microsoft. If this has happened to you then read this article. Developing your own Search Engine - A guide to adapting Google search queries into a custom search engine, quite an interesting read. How to Clean a Computer Time - A guide to cleaning the fan from your computer, simple tips but it may void your warranty. I found these articles interesting, hopefully you will too. I will keep you updated over the next few weeks of any new articles I have been reading, which you may find useful. Also, here are some of the other articles that I have read, which I have recently posted on livejournal.com and squidoo.com.
