Even though President Obama has been amidst a lot of controversies lately and his political campaign has not been doing so well either, the White House Correspondents' Dinner 2012 last night turned out to be quite a spectacular event. Internet is abuzz with news of the coveted event, which was attended by many political dignitaries and celebrities. One of the biggest highlights of the event was Jimmy Kimmel, who made it a whole lot more entertaining with his slapstick humor.

According to Huffington Post, President Obama got back to Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump with some interesting comments and punch lines. He, in his closing words at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, joked about the Secret Service, few agents of whose were recently found involved in a prostitute scandal having fun with women in Colombia ahead of the president's visit. President Obama said, "I had a lot more material prepared, but I have to get the Secret Service home in time for their new curfew,” according to a report by Seattle Times.

A couple of jibes were also directed at the General Services Administration over the agency's famous 2010 conference in Las Vegas. He said quite candidly, "I mean, look at this party. We've got men in tuxes, women in gowns, fine wine, first-class entertainment. I was just relieved to learn this was not a GSA conference," as reported on the official website of the White House.

President Obama also talked about similarities between him and his opponent, Republican nominee Mitt Romney, saying, "We both think of our wives as our better halves, and the American people agree to an insulting extent. We both have degrees from Harvard. I have one, he has two. What a snob," as reported by ABC News.

At the event, renowned celebrities were seen in expensive attires and plenty of pictures are available online to get a scoop of who were the best dressed celebrities. Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan were seen rubbing shoulders with Rick Santorum. Jimmey Kimmel tried to bring in his flavor to the dinner and made it less mundane.
