Andrew Luck was an obvious pick and the one that fills the most immediate need for the Indianapolis Colts. However, nothing gets any better when Andrew Luck reunites Stanfod teammate Coby Fleener when the Colts drafted him in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. The Colts finally find an offensive weapons and they landed one of the top five tight ends in the draft. Fleener can make plays down the field both on the line and split, and gives the Colts' new franchise QB Andrew Luck a safety blanket underneath. Finally Colts got their tight end in the third round when they pick Dwayne Allen from Clemson.
Dwayne Allen and Fleener gave a pair of talented tight ends that Andrew Luck can throw to. Allen is a dual receiving/blocking combo who will do most of his damage off the line, but has the athleticism needed to get down the field. The Colts has lost former Pro Bowler Dallas Clark on March 9 and backup tight end Jacob Tamme to Denver in free agency.
Andrew Luck, Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen will be the face in the re-building process that will take the Colts in new heights of their franchise in the Manning-less era.
