2010 Presidential Medal of Freedom Ceremony

Skooter reporting 04/27/12

Legendary troubadour Bob Dylan and poet Maya Angelou are among President Obama’s list of 13 recipients of this year’s Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. The White House released the honorees' names on Thursday.

Other honorees in the list are former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, astronaut John Glenn, civil rights trailblazer Dolores Huerta, retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens and novelist Toni Morrison. However, fans of Dylan and Albright have to wait until later in the spring to witness the president award his winners, as Team Obama has yet to schedule a date for the ceremony.
