Charles Taylor Convicted of Sierra Leone War Crimes by International Court
Former Liberian President Charles Taylor has been a special court convicted by the UN-sponsored aid and incite war crimes against humanity. This is the first time a head of state being found guilty of an international tribunal since the Nuremberg Nazi trials.

Mr. Taylor, 64, had been closed 11 counts of murder, forced, captured child soldiers and sex slaves during the wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone that left more than 50,000 people were killed.

In addition, the former Liberian president is accused of supplying weapons, food, medicine, fuel and equipment for forces conducting atrocities in Sierra Leone.

However, because Mr. Taylor does not directly ordered or planned to carry out atrocities in Sierra Leone and Liberia should not accused of war crimes or crimes against humanity.

Mr. Taylor appeared to be calm upon hearing the allegations, evidence and court rulings issued after a hearing lasting more than 2 hours in Leidschendam, near The Hague.

Also at the hearing, the judge gave evidence about Mr Taylor has directed force rebel Revolutionary Unity Front (RUF) in the terror campaign "blood diamonds" to rob the diamond mines in Sierra Leone.

In this campaign, Mr. Taylor had appropriated 1vien least 45 carat diamond and 2 tablets of 25 carat.

However, Mr. Taylor rejected a cartridge of the allegations, asserting that his actions to establish peace in the region and that the trial he was motivated by politics in Western countries.

Mr. Taylor was the first African leaders were put on trial for war crimes.
