Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge made quite a splash at the UK Premiere of Disneynature’s “African Cats” held at British Film Institute (BFI) on London’s Southbank on April 25, 2012 in London, England.
The Duchess of Cambridge, a.k.a., 30, wore a striking gray peplum knee-length dress by designer that features an Egyptian style mainly turquoise gem and gold bead detailing along the neckline and elbow-length sleeves. Kate accessorized with black pumps and a small black clutch bag.
Husband Prince William, 29, looked dapper in his usual choice of a navy suit for a formal event, teamed with a crisp white shirt and deep red tie.
The African Cats viewing at BFI also served as a charity fundraiser for the conservation group Tusk Trust, which Prince William is also the patron of. William also gave a speech at the podium about the Tusk Trust and its charity functions.
Tusk Trust has 40 projects in 17 African countries that aim to protect wildlife, alleviate poverty and encourage education in rural communities. Prince William has been the charity's Royal Patron since 2005.
Reportedly the royal couple has not appeared together in public since William returned from his military deployment to the Falkland Islands back on March 21, which has kept him busy for the past seven weeks.
As you may well know, Duchess Kate has also been keeping busy with a number of public engagements and appearances including her first solo speech a the Treehouse Children’s Hospice.
Directed by Keith Scholey ("Big Cat Diary") and Alastair Fothergill ("Earth" and "Deep Blue") and narrated by British actor Sir, African Cats is filmed in Kenya's Masai Mara region from August 2008 to October 2010, following a pride of lions and a family of cheetahs in the savanna.
