Another Hollywood legend to have fallen for the Duchess of Cambridge’s mesmerizing charm is none other than the singing star Julie Andrews.
The Sound of Music prima donna has gone on to shower encomiums on the latest entrant to the British royalty, Duchess Kate who will soon be celebrating the first anniversary of her marriage to the future heir to the British throne, Prince William.
Julie Andrews, 76 has praised 30-year-old Duchess Catherine by insisting that she is a role model who has given any aspiring princesses a taste of the hard work, responsibilities and grit required to be a true blue royal.
It may be noted that the widely feted and loved singer/actress Andrews has essayed the role of Queen Clarisse Renaldi in both ‘The Princess Diaries’ films. Prince William's wife Duchess Kate according to Julie Andrews has given the outdated image of a princess a completely new makeover and persona.
What has deeply impressed the Academy award winning actress of Mary Poppins, is Duchess Kate showing before the world that royalty is not only about beautiful dresses, glass slippers, parties and balls, it is also about responsibilities and work.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, the My Fair Lady says "There's a lot more to princesses these days (than) their civic duties alone.... Look at Kate, the lovely princess we have in Britain right now. I think she's probably extremely hard working and has an enormous amount of responsibility speaking for the royal family and doing her royal duties and going out to her charities.”
Full of obvious admiration the much feted actress lauds the former Kate Middleton’s life-style by adding "It's a very busy and hard life".
