Joel Allen is not just a computer engineer but also a carpenter and he has built an illegal tree house the HemLoft in the Whistler Forest of Canada as reported in mailonline dated 23rd April 2012.
It took him quite a while, several months in fact, to survey the layout and decide upon the perfect tree where he wanted to build his egg-shaped tree house.
He wanted the tree to be near enough to a road and yet be out of earshot of traffic.
He did not have the money to buy a house of his own, so his idea to bud a tree house on his own. To do that, he first made a scale model of the house to test out its strength.
It took him nearly three years, thousands of dollars and a lot of patience and hard work to complete his project the HemLoft – of course, some of the items he used had come free from Craigslist. But – since the tree stands Crown land, Joel Allen is worried that his house may not really belong to him!!
