North Korea has threatened South Korea that it can reduce it to ashes within minutes by using ‘unusual methods’ as reported in the Australian of dated 24th of April 2012.
It has accused the Seoul government of defaming its leadership and has said that its targets were the President of South Korea Lee Myung-Bak termed as ‘group of traitors’ and other ‘rat-like’ elements which include the conservative media which is denying expression of fair public opinion.
South Korea President Lee had commented that the $850-million spent by North Korea on the unsuccessful rocket launch could have been better utilized to purchase 2.5-million tonnes of corn.
The US perceives these threats and vitriolic statements as acts of provocation and the White House has cautioned North Korea that hostile behaviors of this nature would not end its global isolation nor would it be able to feed its population.
