London Marathon 2012:chairty raised to £200,000 after Claire Squires's death

Donations have poured into charity by people who were touched by the death of Claire Squires.

Till the last news money have been raised to awesome £200,000 by an astonishing display of public generosity.

Her site was today flooded by people paying tribute. Donations made to the JustGiving fundraising page of the young woman, nicknamed Bear,

Claire Squires, a 30-year-old hairdresser,Claire, a hairdresser from North Kilworth, Leics, was running to raise money for the Samaritans.

She had run the marathon once before and was in apparent good health before she collapsed in the final stretch of the race on Sunday. Immediate medical attention was provided but paramedics were unable to revive her.

Friends said Miss Squires was well-known in her home town for her regular fund-raising efforts for a variety of causes.

Claire's death was the tenth during the London Marathon’s 31-year history. The last participant to die was a 22-year-old fitness instructor in 2007.
