The Queen Pays Royal Visit to Greenwich University Campus Wed 25 April
The Queen will be visiting the Royal Borough of Greenwich, this Wednesday 25th April from 10:30am. As well as officially opening the Cutty Sark and Cutty Sark Gardens, The Queen will be celebrating the National Maritime Museum's 75th birthday and opening the Royal River exhibition. On their way to the National Maritime Museum the Royal Party will be passing through the Campus along College Way escorted by the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery. As a consequence of the Royal visit, please be advised of the following restrictions around the campus on the 25th April:
• No vehicle traffic will be permitted through the campus between 10:00hrs and 14:00hrs; vehicles will however be permitted to enter East Gate to access the car parks at Queen Anne and Queen Mary.
• There will be a total suspension of vehicle movements on site between 12:00hrs and 12:40hrs.
• University bus services from the campus will be suspended between 10:00hrs and 14:00hrs. This means the service to Medway at 12:05 will be cancelled and there will no services to Avery Hill at 10:15, 11:15, 12:15 and 13:15. Services from Avery Hill will depart at the usual times but passengers will be dropped-off outside the campus.
• College Way will have barriers along the full length of the south side of the road and along the north side of the road from the Mews to the west corner of Lower Grand Square. Access points will be provided through the barriers: between Queen Mary & Queen Anne, between King William and King Charles, and between Dreadnought and the Mews.
