Why Did Rashad Evans Talk All That Crap?

UFC 145 Main Event: Jon Jones vs Rashad Evans

For the past fourteen months, "Suga" Rashad Evans (22-2-1) talked about how current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones (16-1-0) betrayed him and how Evans was going to get payback yesterday evening at the Philips Arena in the main event of UFC 145 in Atlanta.

The buildup for the fight was immense due to the fighters knowing so much about each other and due to the intense trash-talking that ensued.

So, I'm thinking that Evans could have something up his sleeve for this fight. Nope! The only thing I saw him doing was getting his head lumped up with Jones elbows to the side of his face.

Why talk all of this crap and do little than nothing in the Octagon? Jones ending up retaining his belt with a unaminous decision (49-46, 49-46, 50-45). At the very least, some thought that Evans won a round. However, not backing up this enormous talk was disheartening. Throwing only seven punches in the 4th round is deplorable.

The lesson that I learned from this fight is that I will never say crap about Jon Jones.

For proof of Evans turning another fight into a snooze fest, check out the second part of the fight.
