Coastguard chopper goes shopping to Orkney for beef steaks

The crew of the Shetland Coastguard wanted to buy beef steaks from their favorite butcher in Orkney - therefore, throwing caution to the winds, they flew in their chopper to Orkney to collect the goodies.

It was an 85-mile journey from their base and they would now have to pay a heavy price for their unscheduled shopping – they had already paid 400-pounds sterling worth of steak. They would now have to shell out more money for the cost of fuel etcetera.

It seems they had been on a training mission which had been completed. They should have returned back to base but thought that they could make the trip on the sly and no one would know.

Unfortunately, someone saw them, took a video and posted it on the YouTube – that let the cat out of the bag. The chopper had landed in a field in the backyard of a known butcher who has said that the team had come there earlier also. They loved the fillet steaks and roasting joints of silverside – they were all good cuts.

As punishment, the pilot has been suspended.
