Romney Doesn't Like The Cookies

The Bethel Bakery is now holding a "CookieGate" special. At the bakery, you get a half dozen cookies when you buy a dozen. The reason why this special is going on at the bakery is because of an incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

The eventual GOP candidate, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney was in Bethel Park, PA holding an outdoor roundtable event. The event was held so that he could meet with some of the people that live in the area.

In these types of political events, the candidate is supposed to show that he is able to connect with people in order to increase how likable the candidate is portrayed throughout the nation. However, it didn't work out as planned.

For the event, some cookies from the Bethel Bakery and some lemonade were placed on the picnic table they were sitting at. In another vain attempt to connect, here is what Mr. Romney said,

"I'm not sure about these cookies. They don't look like you made them. No, no. They came from the local 7-Eleven, bakery, or whatever."

Oops. Instead of being grateful that the town was hospitable enough to provide cookies for the event, Romney decides to slam the bakery with a sly side shot of 7-Eleven. Unfortunately for Romney, Bethel Bakery is known to be one of the best bakeries in northern Pennsylvania.
