LMFAO Gives Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest a Shout Out - NYRE 2012

...and it's another shocker!

It’s results night on “American Idol” and after the judges used their one and only save of the season last week on Jessica Sanchez, someone will definitely be going home at the end of tonight’s show. This week’s returning Idol is season eight winner Kris Allen. In a shocking decision Allen beat out glam rocker Adam Lambert for the win.

On last night’s performances the singers each performed two solos – one from 2000 on and one classic “Soul Train” hit. Joshua Ledet was the only singer to earn a standing ovation from the judges for both of his performances, but last week Joshua was one of the singers in the bottom three. Did Joshua please the voters as well as he did the judges? And after being saved last week did Jessica do enough to stay in the competition? Time will tell.

Host Ryan Seacrest opened the show by revealing that in last night’s vote over 53 million votes were cast.

The seven Idols start the performances off with their version of “Dancing in the Streets” by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. The singers were assaulted by falling balloons as they performed.

The Idols do little stargazing in the Ford Music Video this week.

Time for the first results; first up are Joshua and Hollie. Joshua is safe; but Hollie is the first singer in the bottom three.

Season five winner Taylor Hicks is in the audience and announces that he will be playing Las Vegas this summer. Hicks gives Ryan a hand in introducing fellow winner Kris Allen with his new single “Vision of Love”.

Next up for results are Skylar and Elise. Elise returns to her summer vacation home and joins Hollie in the bottom three; but Skylar is safe.

Ryan Seacrest narrated a clip on Dick Clark; saying that everybody needed a mentor and Dick Clark was his. Seacrest called Dick Clark a remarkable man who left a rich legacy to the world. “We take comfort in the fact that his spirit will live on forever…especially in music,” Ryan Seacrest.

LMFAO take over the Idol stage to perform “Sorry for Party Rockin’” – apology anthem to “Party Rock Anthem”; a performance that included a dancing zebra.

The last three singers – Phillip, Colton, and Jessica – learn their results. Jessica is safe. Phillip is safe but Colton makes his first visit to the bottom three.

Ryan saves Elise.

Hollie is safe but Colton has been eliminated!!!
