Simultaneous bomb blasts in the capital Baghdad and other cities of Iraq like Kirkuk, Samarra, Dibis and Taji have left behind a trail of death and destruction as reported in BBC dated 19th April 2012.

The targets were the security forces and initial reports put the death toll at 35 and the number of injured at over 100.

The attacks which bore the trademarks of the al-Qaida were spread over a period of one and half hours and one of the targets was, apparently, the Health Minister Majeed Hamad Amin who was travelling – however, he is safe and has not been hurt in the attacks.

A meeting of major international world powers is scheduled to be held in Iraq next month to discuss the nuclear programs of Iran and observers feel that these attacks in cities of Iraq are meant to create unrest in the country and disrupt normal life.
