Dick Clark, commonly known as the “America’s Oldest Teenager” has died at the age of 82 of a heart attack in Santa Monica, California on April 18, 2012.
The famed game show host, television and radio personality and businessman, who headed Dick Clark Productions as Chief Executive Officer, was just released from St. John’s hospital in Los Angeles after undergoing an outpatient procedure last night.
This morning Clark suffered a massive heart attack and attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. He had also suffered a stroke back in 2004.
Dick Clark was famous for his coverage of New Year’s Eve countdown coverage at the Big Apple in New York and as well as American Bandstand, which first aired in August of 1957.
