Kayla Marie Golden, 28, gunned down on Tuesday, just three days after she gave birth to a son, Keegan Schuchardt. The unidentified attacker took her son away after brutally murdering the mother right at the doors of Spring’s Northwoods Paediatric Centre.
The abduction of three-day-old boy after mother’s brutal slaying triggered huge hunt down and cops frantically looked for both; the baby boy and his abductors. However, Keegan was found late night, alive and safe. Although details were not immediately released but police said they had one person of interest in custody.
Poor Kayla was allegedly shot by a woman multiple times while outside doctor's office. The woman, alongside an accomplice, managed to flee the scene along with the kidnapped infant. The incident occurred in Spring County (Texas), a quiet and calm suburban Houston area following which cops started to look for the suspect.
The cries of the 28-year-old mother were heard by several people present at the scene. Not only shot several times, Kayla was also struck by a light blue Lexus driven by the suspect’s male partner. The getaway car was eventually tracked down by police, found parked outside an apartment.
Authorities said the infant was discovered and he was safe, without disclosing any further details. The boy was to be reunited with his father, Keith Schuchardt, added authorities. Amber Alert for the missing infant was issued at a state-level while police were on the lookout throughout Texas. They also believed luxury car used in the incident still had blood-marks on driver's side; where from, the driver ran Ms Golden down while fleeing.
The suspected woman allegedly had argument with Ms Golden while she walked to her pickup-truck. She had gone to clinic for check-up with little Keegan, said sheriff's Lt Dan Norris. Suddenly pulling out a pistol, the suspect opened fire at Kayla and fired several shots. After hitting her at a close range, the woman snatched Keegan from his mother while the male suspect ran to the Lexus along with the infant.
Desperately trying to take her infant back, Kayla reached for the car but instead ended up rundown by the speedy driver.
