A six year old girl from Georgia was handcuffed by the police and charged with assault after having a tantrum in her elementary school.
The six year old girl named Salecia Johnson throws tantrums in her classroom by tearing the school items and throwing furnitures. The worst action the kid was done is she knocked over a shelf that injured the pricipal.
She even biting the doorknob and attempting to break the glass frame while jumping on top of a paper shredder.
Milledgeville Chief of Piolice Dray Swicord says, "Our policy is that any detainee transported to our station in a patrol vehicle is to be handcuffed in the back. There is no age discrimination on that rule”.He added that the police who handcufed Johnson will not faced any investigation over his actions. The action made to Johnson is the best way for her safety.
However, the parents of Johnson are trying to organize a protest against the police actions. Salecia's father Earnest Johnson said,” A 6-year-old in kindergarten. They don't have no business calling the police and handcuffing my child”. Eventhough Salecia was bought to the police station and charged with simple assault and damage of property she will not be prosecuted due to her age.
