Jaleel White & Kym - Samba - DWTS 2012 (Latin Night)

Results night on “Dancing with the Stars” means guest star performances and one more couple eliminated from the competition. This week is the first ever dance dual on DWTS where just like in a professional ballroom competition both couples will perform the same dance at the same time. Based solely on the dance performance itself the judges will then decide which couple will be eliminated.

The show kicked off with the encore performance by Maria and Derek, except this time when it came time to kiss…Derek turned away and headed for Carrie Ann; and Maria soon followed but gave Bruno a kiss.

The first three couples to learn their results were Gladys and Tristan, Melissa and Maks, and Maria and Derek. All three couples were safe.

The first guest performance of the night was Train performing their newest single from the album that was released earlier today, “Drive By”. Cheryl Burke and Louis Van Amstel performed on the dance floor as the group sang.

In the Macy’s Stars of Dance, Sheila E. joins the Latin dancers for a fast paced percussive filled performance.

Selena Gomez and the Scene perform their new single “Hit the Lights” from her album “When the Sun Goes Down”.

Time for more results with Donald and Peta, Katherine and Mark, and William and Cheryl. William and Cheryl are safe. Katherine and Mark are also safe. And Donald and Peta are safe.

Of Roshon and Chelsie, Jaleel and Kym, and Gavin and Karina only one of them is safe; with the other two couples facing off in the dance dual.

Roshon and Chelsie are safe for another week; but Gavin and Karina for the third time and Jaleel and Kym for the first time are in the bottom and must compete in the dance dual by performing a Cha Cha to “Edge of Glory” for the judges. Gavin predicted that he would be in the dance dual and conceded that Jaleel is the better dancer. It was the first Cha Cha performance for both couples.

In a unanimous decision Carrie Ann, Len, and Bruno all chose to save Jaleel and Chelsie; meaning the third time was not the charm for Gavin and Karina, who were eliminated. With the elimination of Karina Smirnoff, there will be no consecutive repeat winner of the mirrorball trophy.

Next week, it’s the Motown Special and some of the singers who made the hits will come to the ballroom and perform the songs including Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves, and The Temptations.
