I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire.

In this verse, Jacob devises a plan for restitution. He stated that he wanted all of the unwanted cattle, all of the unwanted sheep, and the rest of the unwanted goats. In ancient times, livestock with no blemishes were more valuable than the rest. This scheme is so mischievous that Laban cannot see that he is being tricked.
Numerical Analysis: The numerical pattern for this verse is 3,5,8,2. (3) To follow the Holy Spirit, be willing to work. (5) To remain in God's presence, accept the rejected. (8) To have a new beginning in God, accept the rejected. (2) To be delivered, accept the rejected.
