Dani Alves, defender for Barcelona, has attacked Chelsea by saying that the London team 'lack courage'. Alves said that Chelsea play with fear and blame losses on poor refereeing decisions when it's down to the attitude of the players and their lack of team spirit.
Of course Chelsea now have another new manager inwho seems to have got the team firing on all cylinders and up for Wednesday's Champion's League Semi-Final. Alves could find himself eating his own words if Chelsea's performance against Tottenham in the FA Cup on Sunday is anything to go by.
Withhitting form and Torres also looking good again one can't count Chelsea out of winning against the magnificent Barcelona.
Speaking in The Guardian, Alves said of their last semi-final with Chelsea:
"Chelsea did not reach the final because of fear. The team that has got a man more, is playing at home and winning should have attacked us more. But of course, if you don't have that [attacking] concept of football that Barcelona have, you stay back and you get knocked out. You have to go forward. Stay back: losers. Go forward: winners. I think Chelsea lacked the courage to take a step forward and attack us. They paid for it."
Chelsea are approaching Wednesday's match with enthusiasm and it is thought that Di Matteo will field a starting eleven featuring many of Chelsea's elder statesmen such as Frank Lampard, John Terry, Didier Drogba and Ashley Cole. Werther they will be any match for the Spannish wizards only at least 90 minutes of hard fought football will tell!
