For over two thousand years, the Muslims and the Jews have lived in relatively good harmony in comparison to other countries located in Africa and in the Middle East. However, that unity could eventually be broken due to the Arab Spring.
Take a look at a timeline since Ben Ali was kicked out of office in Tunisia's revolution. In October of last year, the radical Islamist Ennahada party won 43 percent of the votes in Tunisia's parliamentary elections. Uh-oh.
For the next five months, the Ennahada party attempted to implement sharia law into the country's constitution. Fortunately, that measure failed.
The party also attempted to impose a ban on all ties with Israel. That proposed ban also failed. Are you getting the point? Radical Islam = Fail.
Due to this party obtaining power in Tunisia's parliament, the Salafist movement is beginning to gain a foothold within the nation. In three protest marches within a month, the Salafists have chanted, "Death to the Jews!"
We must all hope that radical Islam does not prevail in Tunisia or in any other country within the stretch of the Arab Spring.
