Best dressed at 2012 Olivier Awards

Londoners held their 2012 Olivier Awards at The Royal Opera House on Sunday April 15, 2012 in London, England.

Dan Stevens of Downton Abbey fame, playing the role of heir apparent “Matthew Crawley” was attending with wife Susie Hariet, who looked lovely in her maroon gown with bared shoulders, though very advanced in her pregnancy.

Celia Imrie, who stars in the TV series “Titanic,” looked positively regal in her indigo blue one-shoulder gown with the metallic detailing over the right shoulder, while Hayley Atwell looked lovely in her strapless beige gown and drop earrings.

Another strapless gown on Susannah Fielding, the Lady in Red, but that mid thigh high slit right up the front set her apart from most strapless gowns, like that black one on Ruth Wilson with the tulle skirt…

Actress Zoe Wanamaker was also wearing red, a lovely glittery red gown covered in sequins.

The Art Deco themed black and beige dress on Kara Tointon was appropriate played up by her very retro looking hairstyle and deep red lipstick – clever!

Also attending the Olivier Awards and photographed on the red carpet were David Suchet of Poirot fame and Sheila Ferris, James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff (Anne-Marie in an elegant black gown!), American actress Tyne Daly, who also presented on stage, Barbara Windsor in her deep red gown and Marcia Warren in three shades of purple that looked great together!
