Lafayette Louisiana. Corporal Paul Mouton the spokesman for the Lafayette Police Department said on Friday the police are searching for a bank robber who stole an undisclosed amount of money from a Gulf Coast Bank Friday morning. The bank is located in the 4300 block of Johnston Street.
Mouton said the male bank robber walked into the front door of the bank, walked up to the bank teller, pulled out a pistol and a bag, jumped over the counter and stole the cash from the bank teller's post. The bank robber then fled the building, went inside a dark blue SUV that had a get away driver and traveled northbound.
Mouton said the seven employees and two clients inside the bank were not injured during the robbery. The police are reviewing the videotape of the bank robbery and have concluded the bank robber is a Black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 165 pounds. He was wearing a tan baseball cap, dark glasses, blue jeans and a white shirt with stripes of various colors.
The suspects are still at large and the police are asking the public in helping the capture the criminals in this crime.
