A young finalist on TV singing contest “American Idol,” was eventually saved from being eliminated on Thursday by the show’s judges. Jessica Sanchez, performed a last chance song to prove she was worthy of staying in the singing contest.
After Sanchez was told she had received the fewest fan votes this week, hurriedly marched towards the stage and followed by fellow judges and Steven Tyler and all three agreed to declare that they were using their only “save” to keep Sanchez on the show.
"Give me that mic!," Lopez exclaimed as she rushed up to Sanchez. "This is crazy!"
This season, "Idol" judges were allowed one "save" to overrule audience votes and keep a gifted contestant on the show. If the "save" had not been used by next week's performance, it would have expired.
To close out the show Sanchez, sang Deborah Cox's song "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here.” Sanchez appeared confused by both her last place finish and her save.
This season's winner will be decided in May.
