A whale shark locally known as 'butanding' was spotted in the waters of Manila Bay, Thursday afternoon.

Reporter, Fritzie Cabial posted on twitter photos of the said whale shark and stressed out that the fish had a wound on its fin.

This is very rare to be spotted on Manila Bay since whale shark usually found in the plankton-rich waters commonly along the shores of Bicol, Sorsogon and parts of Visayas.

Authorities still investigate the cause of butanding’s presence in Manila waters.
