Every now and then I go through a crush on a current trend – this time it’s moccasins. Shopping online is of course the most convenient way to find your moccasins and compare items, if you want to take a risk with sizing.
I cannot stress enough that one should take the time to read product reviews, if available, for sizing, comforts, quality, durability and so on...
Womens Corene Bootie Slippers in Periwinkle are the apparently real suede and priced at an affordable $8.04 (on clearance from $22.99), available through Target online. The light periwinkle blue, paired with the white fur and the leather thong tie is a winning combination.
Ciao Bella Women’s Moxie Moccasin in Leopard is a also suede (listed as “leather” in the description!) in French vanilla and cocoa brown animal print, threaded through with a chocolate brown ribbon, tied into a bow, retailing at $16.69 on sale at Amazon.com.
If you don’t mind faux suede, the Sandy24 Fringe Trim Laces Desert Flats in honey suckle, a very pretty coral pink, are absolutely gorgeous and priced right at $19.20 at makemechic.com. The cutout detailing at the ankle is what sets these apart from most mocs but the color is simply delicious! They are also available in other color options such as jade green, tan, light grey and black.
Minnetonka Moccasins Women’s Beaded Ankle Boot, sold via shoes.com, have free shipping so knock off $10 off the price for shipping and handling and look at these beaded ankle moccasin booties in grey suede for $30 rather than $40! They come with a traction outersole and are available in two shades of brown, though called “taupe.”
Another Minnetonka favorite is the Fringed Moc Shoes in brown suede with concha detailing, priced at $41.40 with free shipping at stevenbysteve.com.
Generally, real suede will be a better buy for durability and leather tends to stretch over time and shape to the foot as well. With synthetics you may get a durable product but you’re taking a bit of a chance… Enjoy your shopping and my slide show!
