
Waco Texas - The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced Wednesday Baylor University (BU) mens and womens basketball programs were placed on three years probation after the NCAA investigated into illegal phone and text messages to recruit high school basketball stars to their school.
Baylor University mens basketball coach Scott Drew will be suspended two games next season from coaching Big 12 games since the incident occured during his watch at the school. He will be on restrictions on recruiting future basketball players.
Women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey of the champion basketball team will face the same restrictions of recruiting basketball players.
The NCAA investigation revealed more than 500,000 telephone and text messages to potential recruits uncovered 738 texts and 528 phone calls that were considered illegal under NCAA rules.
