News source New Orleans Times Picayune, Danny Monteverde. New Orleans Louisiana. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office ruled the cause of death of a teenager who was found deceased Monday in Lake Pontchartrain is that he drowned.

Bilder Lopez 17, who was with his family on Saturday jumped off an old pier at the site of the former Pontchartrain Beach amusement park which is located at the foot of Elysian Fields Avenue near the campus of the University of New Orleans (UNO). He jumped into the lake about 4pm and never resurfaced from the lake.

The United States Coast Guard New Orleans office, the New Orleans Police Department divers and the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries ended the search for Lopez Sunday night.

The Lopez family searched for Bilder in hopes of somehow finding him alive but sad to report his deceased body was found Monday morning about 7am on a breakwater yards away from he dove from the pier into the lake.

It is unknown if he may hit an object in the water that caused him to drown at this time.
