News of Usher’s death in a car accident took the blogosphere by storm Tuesday after a false report by Global Associated News went viral. On the contrary, the R&B superstar was very much alive and enjoying his weekend in Disneyland.
According to the website, “Usher died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident and was identified by photo ID found on his body. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this accident on April 10, 2012. Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Usher lost control while driving a friend’s vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly."
The report also stated that “the vehicle was believed to have been traveling at approximately 95 miles per hour in a 55mph zone at the time of the accident,” adding, “Toxicology tests will be performed to determine whether he was driving under the influence, however initial findings indicate that drugs or alcohol did not contribute in any way to this accident as it was more likely to been caused by road conditions.”
At the time the news of his death was making rounds on the internet, the singer was enjoying a trip to Disneyland with his boys - 5-year-old Usher Raymond V aka “Cinco” and 4-year-old Naviyd Raymond. As seen from the photos taken at the amusement park, Usher, who is best known for his dance moves, had donned a snakeskin tee to enjoy a sunny day at Disneyland in California.
Meanwhile, Usher is currently preparing to make new music together with “Boyfriend” singer Justin Bieber. The pair will make a pair of duets, which will appear on each of their upcoming albums.
The “Climax” singer confirmed the news on Twitter on Tuesday. “Proud of @justinbieber for his new single #BOYFRIEND - the biggest selling worldwide single first week EVER!” he tweeted, according to cbsnews.com.
“Ohh...and trust we got a duet coming for "LOOKING 4 MYSELF" and "BELIEVE" he has come a long way. Proud to see his evolution as an artist!” he added in another post.
Usher's seventh studio album titled Looking for Myself is scheduled for release on June 12.
