An anti-Indian and anti-western campaign vandalized the statues of Indian independence icon Mahatma Gandhi and Britain’s Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scout Movement on Friday, April 6. The incident took place at Batticaloa town, 300kms east of Colombo. Two local icons’ statues were also been destroyed.
