The annual White House Easter Egg Roll were attended by 30,000 at the South Lawn of the White House.
An estimate of 200,000 joined the nationwide lottery for the 30,000 tickets of the event. The 30,000 winners were divided into five batches as the only 6,000 allowed to stay in the South Lawn for two hours. US President Barrack Obama and his family welcomed the participants along with their dog named Bo. Aside from the egg roll, other activities include an obstacle course, a yoga session an a work out with the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team. Players and coaches from professional sports teams were on hand to teach kids how to play sports and to stay active and fit in line with Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move! initiative” which was this year’s theme.
The Egg Roll event started wayback in 1878 during the presidency of Rutherford B. Hayes and much attended by the children and their parents.
