Bhangarh Story:

According to myths and local folk tales of Bhangarh, the city felt victim to curses and black magic which led to the complete destruction of the place. The story is as follows, there was a princess, Ratnawati, whose beauty and charm was matchless in whole Rajasthan, when she came into her age of eighteen she start getting matrimonial offers from other states. In the same town there lived a “Tantrik” (Magician) too, named Singhia, who was very knowledgeable in black magic. He was madly in love with the charm and beauty of the princess, Ratnawati. But he knows very well that he will never be allowed to meet the princess or to see her. One day, he saw the princess maid in the market buying perfumed oil for the princess. Seeing this, he got a plan by which he could meet the princess. He used his black magic and showered some words on the oil which would hypnotize the princess by her merely touching the oil, and she would herself come to the Tantrik. The princess too was a master in this art and she failed this plan of the Tantrik. The princess, throw that oil on a rock. As soon as the oil touched the rock, it started rolling towards the wicked tantrik and crushed him. While dying, Singhia cursed the palace with the death of all who dwelt in it, without any rebirth in their destinies. The very next year there was a battle between Bhangarh and Ajabgarh and Ratnavati died. This isolated village with crumbling walls, arches and the ancient pavilions are the main tourist attractions in Bhangarh. There are a number of temples and Mosques in the region, which includes the Dev Narayan Temple, Gopinath, Temple Lord Hanuman Temple, Someshwar Temple and Lord Shiva Temple.
