Black Farmers Still being Discriminated Against

On May 11, 2012 another sad day for the African American will come. The deadline for the Black Farmer’s Settlement will arrive. It will be a time of settlement and eventually payment, for those who are fortunate to know about it at least. I was given the task of trying to make heads or tails of the paperwork for my deceased father. I discovered that my father was indeed discriminated against during this time while filing for a USDA loan, but now they want to know if my father actually complained and is it filed with the government somewhere. When I heard the white representative say this over the phone it pained my heart. My father is from the generation that went to segregated schools and would have been dragged from his home and lynched on his own property before the state or federal government would allow his complaint to go anywhere or even be heard. They were trained not to complain or they would end up like brave men and women such as, Medgar Evers who was shot in front of his own home before his very wife and children while the white man went unpunished for decades. The federal government goes even further by having a black actor recorded on video assisting people at the various “help” areas to show these modest men and women how to fill out the form and then they are met at the desk by predominately white staff and white lawyers who readily tell them no and they cannot help you and African Americans are forced to see their tax dollars pay these men and women sit at these tables and do nothing next to all of these files they have sitting around with everyone’s name on them that are in the settlement. So they call the 1-800 number only to be given conflicting information from what the lawyers are telling those men and women who actually make it through to talk with one of the lawyers. I tell you these black farmers though they won the case have been set up for failure because again they are kept from gathering the information to make intelligent decisions and are thwarted at every turn by that same demonic spirit that has held them down for so long. We have a black president you say? Look at the discrimination he faces in the house and senate all because they do not want the help get the country going again for their own selfish reasons. President Obama is the ultimate victim of discrimination. What good is awarding all these farmers for this one time of discrimination if you are guilty of discriminating against all of them for decades and denying them loans from the dawn of the banking system itself? Can someone tell me the name of the first black American to even be awarded a loan? Do not think that I am innocent dear readers, because I am guilty of judging my black brothers and sisters and blaming them for why we don’t own more businesses and why we have not been more active in politics and society as a whole. Various men and women from other countries have come in and set up whole mafias on our soil and thrive further than we have, but I tell you it is not because we have not tried. The men and women who stand at the gate are actively denying and working to discourage any productive activity we do. You disagree? I challenge you to start a building project in the heart of Danville Virginia. Find and white man and see how fast they allow him to start building and then find a black man and see how many obstacles they place in his way before he is even eligible to begin to break ground. This I have seen and experienced with my own eyes. But Oh thank God that one day there will be a day of reckoning. Black Farmers survived the discrimination back in the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s and we are still here, though you who are filled with the hatred of satan try and stand in our way. We are swimming in grace and God will one day make your crooked paths straight.
