12-year-old pit bull 'Kilo' saved his owner’s life by taking a bullet to the head during a home invasion on Staten Island. “He’s a hero. He saved my life,” the NYDailyNews quoted 'Kilo'’s owner Justin Becker as saying to CBS 2. “He went to protect me and he did his job,” Becker added.

A man in a FedEx delivery uniform made a sudden attack on Becker in his Graniteville home. Three shots were fired when Becker was battling with the gunman and 'Kilo' tried to protect him. One bullet ricocheted off 'Kilo'’s skull and pierced his neck, sparing the 70 pounds dog from certain death.

Not only his master, the hospital staffs were also impressed by 'Kilo' that they put a little ‘S’ on his bandage to salute this real life superhero.
