The Aquadream aquarium in Casablanca, Morocco, is not just a marvel of engineering but one of the emerging new wonders of the 21st century.

It is built by an American firm and is quake resistant also as reported in the Daily Mail of 5th April 2012.

Located in the Morocco Mall in Casablanca, it can hold 3000 fishes and sea creatures in a 264,000 gallons body of water.

Since it is situated in a tremor prone area, the 30-feet high cone-shaped fish tank has been given a quake proof design – it has already survived two minor quakes since inception!!! The diameter at the base is 40-feet and at the top is 44-feet while the acrylic panels are 5-inches thick.

There is a lift that goes up the center and the shopper gets a feeling of being underwater, surrounded by marine life which contains corals, fish, sharks and stingrays.

It has been built by International Concept Management, Colorado, who had made a similar one the AquaDom cylindrical aquarium in Berlin.
