Blue Marlin at Jurassic Park

Ever imagined a baseball stadium with a poolside and models in bikinis? A bustling ground with people and salsa drums and DJs playing your favorite music, while you enjoy your favorite game? If you have ever fantasized about such a happening sports stadium your dream has been turned in to a reality after the inauguration of Marlin’s park.

Marlins Park is a baseball park in Miami, Florida. It is the current home of the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball team and is located on the site of the former Miami Orange Bowl in Little Havana, which is almost 2 miles away from the Downtown.

Marlin’s Park has been one of the most awaited projects which were to be completed this year. After almost two years of construction time and a lot of political to and fro on the Marlin’s Park project it is finally ready to be used. 36,601 lucky individuals got to witness the happening inauguration ceremony/party. All these people were given tickets for the launch as it was an invite only event. It was attended by renowned celebrities and players. Some of them even shared their views with Miamiherald. Omar Duranona, had come with his wife Katty Oborteo, he was chilling and sipping cold beer in Marlins Park’s promenade level before the game.

Similarly Orel Hershiser, a renowned pitcher-turned-television personality, talked about the exquisite place and the fabulous launch during an ESPN’s telecast. He said, “From the outside, it looks like a cruise ship had a baby with a spaceship,” “It feels like a new franchise. [Marlins owner Jeffrey] Loria has done a great job.”

Marlin’s Park is a huge stadium; it is also the sixth MLB stadium to have a retractable roof. With a seating capacity of 37,442, it is the third-smallest stadium in Major League Baseball by official capacity, and the smallest by actual capacity. The retractable roof is expected to open in an extremely short span of time (approximately 14 minutes 30 seconds) and it consists of 8,300 tons of steel. The new ballpark could also be the first retractable roof ballpark to be Silver Certified by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

The new stadium will be a venue for several important sporting attractions in the coming years. The Marlins are trying to host the 2013 World Baseball Classic Championship game and 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. With the hype and appreciation it has received so far the likelihood of getting these sponsorships is a lot.
