Manila, Philippines - Less than four months after his assumption as Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Jessie D Dellosa received his fourth star and was promoted to the rank of General.
General Dellosa assumed the highest position in the AFP last December 12, 2011. He previously held the position of Commander, North Luzon Command (NOLCOM) before being the AFP Chief of Staff.
Philippine Air Force Commanding General, MGen Lauro Catalino Dela Cruz is promoted to Lieutenant General as well as The Inspector General, now LtGen Irineo C. Espino.
Joining the ranks of the new Major Generals are MGen Joel P. Ibañez, the Commander of the Training and Doctrines Command, Philippine Army (PA); MGen Romulo M. Cabantac, The Chief Engineer, AFP; and MGen Edgardo Rene C. Samonte, Commander of 15th Strike Wing, Philippine Air Force (PAF).
The new Brigadier Generals are BGen Oscar P. Lopez, BGen Noel B. Miano, BGen Felecito Virgilio M. Trinidad Jr., BGen Aurelio B. Baladad, BGen Rolando G. Jungco, BGen Carlos F. Quita, BGen Julius M. Guillermo, BGen Salvador Melchor B. Mison, and BGen Paulita B. Cruz, who is the second active female General in the AFP after BGen Ramona P. Go. Cruz is the current Chief Nurse, AFP.
“The additional stars on my shoulders come with greater responsibility on my part. I am truly honored by this promotion, and I feel indebted to the people whom I will continue to serve faithfully. Likewise, I am expecting more great things from our newly promoted officers. Rest assured that with this promotion, we will continue performing our responsibilities more efficiently and effectively as protector of the people and vanguards of our nation’s territory,” Dellosa said.
