7 killed in remote controlled bomb blast at Jamrud.



Seven persons including two tribal elders were killed and two other sustained serious injuries when a passenger vehicle was targeted with remote controlled bomb blast on Wednesday here in Kharki Abad Jaba area of tehsil Jamrud, official and local sources informed. The sources said that a double cabin passenger pick up bearing registration No.P 4311 was on its way to Jamrud bazaar from Ganj Gari, near Kharki abad area when it was blown up by road side planted remote controlled explosive device. Seven persons were killed on the spot while two other received fatal wounds who were rushed to Peshawar hospital for medical aid, sources said. The vehicle was also destroyed in the blast, sources said. The deceased were identified as Gulab khan, Akram, Said Akram, Sapeen Gul, Sahib Gul and Minar.Malik Akram and Gulab were local elders and Sahib Gul was serving as clerk in education department, sources said.



Assistant political agent Jamrud Mohammad Jamil confirmed the incident and said that it seemed to be a target killing. All the killed persons were relatives and Nato suppliers,locals and Khasadar force officials told. On the condition of anonymity a Khasadar official told that some of the killed had been receiving regular threats due to their alleged engagement in NATO supplies though NATO supply has been suspended for a long time after the US copters attack on Salala check post in Mohmand Agency. No one claimed responsibility for the heinous crime.
